Our goals for the museum in 2024 go far beyond merely exhibiting Shaker material culture. Our programming will animate Shaker values and inspire our visitors to seek meaningful approaches to social, economic, environmental, and spiritual concerns.
We have just begun work on our historic Chatham building and the surrounding property. The end result will be the new Shaker Museum campus. Our presence in Chatham will bring in new economic streams for the town and the community at large. What remains between those two milestones will be determined by a number of factors, chief among them meeting our fundraising goals.
